iGGtecx Terra Cell super broad geo grids
Our new leading textile innovation is a warp knitting machine for manufacturing geo grids (super broad knitted fabrics). It is able to produce geo grids of any thinkable mesh-size, with qualities that were unfeasible up to today. The machine can process rope-like “yarns” as a weft. The development of this machine was done in cooperation with STFI and VTT.
Different raw materials, textile and non-textile, can be processed by the machine (single or as a mixture), such as yarn, fibers, granules, chippings, flakes and many more – even hay and straw. For particularly inexpensive solutions, we recommend the usage of waste materials.
Yarns are manufactured after the KEMAFIL®-method.
The textile strands with a diameter of up to 130 mm can be used as water storages as well as drainages, which qualifies them for securing and dewatering slopes alike. The strands have threshold effects and also serve as slide protection for the topsoil.
The broad, chain-like mesh structure of the geo grids also offers a variety of inexpensive mounting possibilities.
